How to play

The board
Four colors share a 20 × 20 grid. Each color holds the same 21 tiles made of one to five squares, 89 squares in all.
First tile
Ember, Tide, Iris and Flint each own one corner. Your first tile must cover your own corner.
Later tiles
Every new tile must touch one of your own tiles corner to corner, and may never share a side with your own color. Other colors may sit against your sides.
Scoring
When nobody can place, each square left in your tray costs one point. Place all 21 tiles for +15, or +20 if the single square goes last. Highest total wins.

Controls

Placing
Drag a tile from the tray onto the board. The ghost turns green where it fits and red where it does not. Or tap a tile: it appears on a legal spot, and the spot button steps through every other legal spot. Tap Place to confirm (Settings can place on release).
Turning
Tap the selected tile, or its ghost on the board, to turn it. The arrow buttons turn either way and Flip mirrors it.
Undo and hints
Undo takes back your last move (and the rivals' replies). The bulb suggests a strong move. Both are off in a ranked Daily Quarry.

Common questions

Does the game use data or show ads?
No. There are no ads, no in-app purchases, no account, and no data collection. See the privacy policy.
Can I play with other people on this phone?
Yes. Hotseat passes one phone between 2 to 4 players. With two players each controls two colors; with three, Flint is played by a rival.
What is the Daily Quarry?
A daily board with stones that nobody can cover, the same for everyone that day, against three Hard rivals. Your first finish each day counts toward your streak; replays are unranked.
How do I start over?
Settings › Reset stats and achievements. Your settings stay.
