How to play

Deal
Pick a match length and tap DEAL. A 52-card deck is shuffled and split into two stacks of 26.
Match lengths
Quick ends after 30 battles and Standard after 90: most cards wins, and a 26–26 tie plays one sudden-death battle. Classic is traditional War: play until one side holds all 52.
Battle
Tap PLAY CARD. Both sides turn their top card. The higher rank takes both cards to the bottom of its stack. Aces are high. Suits do not matter.
War
Equal ranks start a War. Each side plays one face-down card, then one face-up card. Repeat while ranks stay equal. The higher face-up takes the whole pot.
Win or lose
Hold all 52 cards to win. Hold zero cards and you lose. If a side cannot supply a required War card, that side loses.
Auto-play and speed
Tap AUTO to let the cards play themselves and SPEED for 1×, 2×, 4× or 8×. Tap the table during a battle to skip its animation.
Daily Deal
Three shuffled hands, the same for everyone that day. Pick one and play a Quick match. Your first result each day counts toward your daily streak.
Chips, levels and unlocks
Battles, Wars and matches earn chips. Chips raise your level, and levels and achievements unlock card backs and table themes in Collection.
House rule
Settings can switch Wars to three cards face down. The Daily Deal always uses one.

Common questions

Does the game use data or show ads?
No. There are no ads, no in-app purchases, no account, and no data collection. See the privacy policy.
Is there any skill involved?
No. War is a game of pure chance, which is the charm. The app adds match lengths, the Daily Deal, stats and unlockables to make every deal worth watching.
A match is paused and I left the app. Is it lost?
No. Matches save automatically. Tap RESUME MATCH in the lobby.
Can I play against another person on this phone?
No. The other stack is a local computer opponent that uses the same War rules.
